What the calculator tells you
The calculator compares length and girth separately with published reference measurements. Individual results are estimates and depend on the research distribution and measurement method.
Understand average measurements
A 2015 systematic review reported mean erect length of 13.12 cm (5.16 inches) from 692 measurements and mean erect circumference of 11.66 cm (4.59 inches) from 381 measurements. The full review included 15,521 men across different measurement categories; that total is not the erect-measurement sample.
Measure consistently
Use a consistent method and compare like with like. Bone-pressed and non-bone-pressed length are not interchangeable, and girth is measured as circumference.
How results are estimated
The calculator uses a published reference distribution to estimate percentiles. A modelled percentile is not a direct count of all men and should not be treated as medically precise.
